Now reverse it.

Now subtract the smaller from the larger.
793 - 397 = 396
Now reverse that.

Then add the reverse to the difference of the first and it's reverse!
396 + 693 = 1089

It doesn't matter what the number. If the first and last digits are 2 digits apart, you come up with 1089 every time!
