Have you ever just wondered "Who came up with that word?" You know. Those words like bologna. Who comes up with this stuff? Then again there are those words that just make sense.
Dictionary.com's word of the day:
sesquipedalian \ses-kwuh-puh-DAYL-yuhn\, adjective:
1. Given to or characterized by the use of long words.
2. Long and ponderous; having many syllables.
noun:1. A long word.
And here's another one that I was reminded of:
hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia, noun:
Fear of long words
.....how ironic, right? Somebody would pass out from fear just trying to tell someone what their fears are! "I suffer from 'hippopotomon...' *thud* "
